Belvoir at low tide

by herm, Wednesday 22 December 2010 20:00

Just to remind you how beautiful Herm is.  This photo was taken mid-September when the tide went down to 1 metre which means it was low enough to walk on the sand to Shell Beach.

i lived in Belvoir House for two years, 1976 -1978 and remember the very low tides on the beach and when razor shells were prolific. Fond memories of a beautiful place, where my two children went to school (there were 4 in the school) and I walked the beaches with my 3rd child in a papoose  aahhh, the place looks as beautiful as it did then!

Herm

So pleased that the photo of Belvoir at low tide has brought back some memories of beautiful Herm.  Walking between the beaches at low tide is one of my favourite walks on Herm, probably because you can't do it very often.  When my children were little they thought it was a great adventure to be put in the inflatable dinghy and towed around to Shell Beach for an ice-cream!
