The holiday cottages were fully booked for the festive season so there was a good gathering for the carol service on Christmas Eve. This year the service was held in The Manor Courtyard whilst St. Tugual’s church is closed for renovations. The following morning a few hardy souls gathered to take part in the annual Christmas Day polar bear dip whilst the not-so-hardy surrounded the brazier to keep warm!
Now it’s a quiet time on Herm as The Mermaid Tavern is closed for the month of January to enable maintenance work to take place and for the staff to take a well earned break. http://www.thisisguernsey.com/2011/01/07/this-week-the-majori/
