Last week two 16-year-old Guernsey boys swam the three miles to Herm from St. Sampson’s breakwater in less than two hours. Oliver Orton and Nick Parkes were raising money for Clic Sargent, a charity that supports children and young people with cancer. They have raised almost £2000, their original target was £500.

The pair agreed that it was a challenging but good experience but couldn’t remember the last 30 minutes because they were so cold! They have been training for the event since they went on study leave for their GCSE exams in May .
Congratulations to Ollie and Nick for completing the challenge and for raising so much money for such a worthy cause.
