Herm School Nativity

by herm, Monday 12 December 2011 14:51

It isn’t the start of the Christmas season until the school Nativity. Islanders gathered in St. Tugual’s Chapel where the story of Jesus has traditionally been acted out on the altar step for the past 50 years.

With eight children to cover the many roles, there is always a bit of artistic license. This year’s was billed as a ‘traditional Nativity’, although one of the wise men was played by a puppet, and there were homages to entrepreneurs Alan Sugar and Richard Branson, hence the title, ‘The Virgin Connection’.

The all-singing, all-dancing children, aged from 4 to 11, put on a great evening’s entertainment, and brought a lovely beginning to the festive season.
