There has been a Herm darts team for the past couple of years and when they can the team go to Guernsey to play a match and raise money for charity at the same time. Due to summer work commitments only four Hermites were able to play at the last match. A good time was had by all.
The football team was newly formed this year. What started as a weekly kick-around between Herm staff and residents has turned into a team registered with the Guernsey Football Association.

The team played their debut match in September against a strong team from Bels. Although Herm didn’t score any goals they played well. Herm goal-keeper, Tom Harvey, was Man of the Match. He was kept busy for most of the match and although 10 went in he made lots of good saves! They played their second match on Sunday against St. Martins. The team played well together and this time only lost by two goals: 5 – 3. Well done Herm!
Hermites might get the cricketing bug too. You may have heard on the Herm grapevine that the summer celebrity Lord’s Taverners cricket match is due to take place on Herm on July 17th 2011. Herm’s head gardener, Brett Moore, will create the pitch and help prepare the artificial wicket over the coming months. The pitch will be in the field called ‘Moss’ near the path that has been used as an overflow campsite for the past few years.
