If you keep a close watch on the Herm website you will have seen that the permanent position of ‘assistant island gardener’ has recently been available.  James Cordingley moved to Herm almost 5 years ago to take up the position but has now decided to further his career and has just started a new job at Penshurst Place, Kent.  James and his girlfriend Jana Ondrejovicova met on Herm four years ago when Jana came from Slovakia to work a season at The Mermaid Tavern.  They are looking forward to starting a new life together in England.
