Oyster Point Herm Sept 2010

This photo was taken in September.  Oyster Point is the north west corner of Herm and is a beautiful place to sit and ponder.  Even on a windy day there are plenty of rocks to shelter behind.  At low tide a pool is revealed which was originally built for oyster beds.  This was created during the tenancy of Lt Col Montague Joseph Feilden who was on Herm in the 1860’s.  Feilden was also responsible for opening the hotel which was known then as The Old Inn.
