Earlier this month Herm residents got together for the annual Herm garden barbecue. It is an opportunity at the end of the summer holidays for us all to get together and relax. It is also a chance to show off some produce, in particular to see who had the biggest marrow. For the third year running Richard Knight grew the biggest! There aren’t enough islanders to have a full-scale produce show but we did have a competition to see who could make the best Victoria Sandwich. Jos Knight, who is also known for Mrs K’s cakes which are sold at the snack bar won this.
